Measure how fast a proxy reaches the sites you actually use
Updated:
A proxy speed test is only meaningful against the destinations you care about, because a proxy that is quick to one network can be slow or blocked on another. Paste one proxy above, as ip:port:user:pass or ip:port, and the tool times a real HTTP request through it to five targets at once: Google, Facebook/Meta, Shopee, Amazon and ipify.
Measures real round-trip latency through your proxy to Google, Facebook, Shopee, and Amazon. Credentials are never logged.
Where the milliseconds come from
Each measurement covers two legs: from our probe to your proxy, and from your proxy to the target's nearest edge server, then back. Geography therefore dominates. A proxy in the same region as the platform's servers answers faster than one on another continent, and Asia to North America links add noticeable delay on every round trip.
The practical rule: judge a proxy by its time to the site you will use, not by a single generic ping. If your work is on Shopee Vietnam, a Vietnam IP is the natural choice; for Amazon US, a US IP.
How to grade the numbers
In the result bars, green marks targets under 250 ms, amber 250–600 ms, and red a failed request.
| Response time | Grade | Suits |
|---|---|---|
< 150 ms | Excellent | Interactive antidetect browsing, fast checkouts, gaming, voice and livestream work |
150 – 400 ms | Good, typical across regions | Managing social accounts (Facebook, TikTok, Etsy), seller dashboards, Playwright automation |
400 – 900 ms | Fair, long-distance route | Background scraping with Scrapy, SEO rank tracking, low-frequency jobs |
> 1000 ms or a timeout | Slow or congested | Typical of an overloaded public proxy; replace it with a private one |
Spotting a block rather than a slow line
- Fast everywhere except one target. If Google and ipify answer
200 OKquickly while Amazon or Shopee return403, the proxy is alive but that platform is limiting the IP. - Every target fails. The proxy itself is not answering; run it through the proxy checker to see whether it is a timeout, a refused port or a login problem.
- ipify result. The ipify row also confirms the exit IP, so you can see the request really went through the proxy.
- Your credentials. The
user:passyou paste is used only for this test and is not kept.
Step by step
- 1
Paste one proxy
Use
ip:port:user:pass,user:pass@ip:portorhttp://user:pass@ip:port. - 2
Run the test
Press Run Speed Test; the proxy is dialled to all 5 targets in parallel.
- 3
Read each bar
Compare green, amber and red targets and note any non-200 status codes.
- 4
Move closer if needed
If your main platform sits above 400 ms, pick a ProxyV4 location in the same region as that platform.
Frequently asked questions
Why is my US proxy slower than my Vietnam or Singapore proxy?
Distance. The trip between Asia and North America adds delay to every round trip. Judge each proxy by its time to the target site's servers, not in the abstract.
Does ProxyV4 meter traffic on private IPv4 and static ISP proxies?
No. Bandwidth on private IPv4 and static ISP proxies is unlimited, with no traffic metering.
Can I test many proxies at once?
This page tests one proxy against five targets. For lists, the proxy checker checks up to 100 proxies per run and can export the results as CSV.
Which location should I buy for Shopee or Amazon?
The one nearest the platform's market. See proxies for Shopee and proxies for Amazon for location advice.
