Running Multilogin profiles on fixed IPs across a whole team
Updated:
Multilogin proxy setup is the same in Multilogin X and Multilogin 6: open Proxy settings, choose Custom, set the protocol to HTTP and paste the ip:port:user:pass line into the host field, then press Check proxy. The harder part in Multilogin is not the form. It is keeping that setting intact once a dozen colleagues can open, clone and edit the same profiles.

Why proxies drift in big workspaces
Multilogin is one of the longest-established antidetect browsers, and it tends to sit at the centre of larger operations: affiliate teams, e-commerce companies and social media agencies with shared workspaces and member roles.
In that setting proxies rarely fail; they drift. A new member swaps an IP to test something and never swaps it back. Someone clones a profile and the copy has no proxy. A US profile ends up on a Hong Kong address because the tags were unclear. Each of these looks like a location change to the platform. The fix is a few house rules, written down once.
House rules for proxies
- One owner edits proxies. Everyone else launches profiles.
- One IP per profile, decided at creation and changed only on purpose.
- Folders or tags by client and country, so a profile's proxy is easy to audit.
- Never run two separate profiles at the same time on the same IPv4 address.
- Renewals are tracked by date, and only proxies whose profiles are still used get renewed. With ProxyV4, a renewal keeps the same address.
The Custom proxy form
| Multilogin field | Value | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Proxy type | HTTP | Our proxies are HTTP(S) with username and password |
| Host : Port : Login : Password | Paste ip:port:user:pass into the host box | Multilogin splits the four parts |
| Timezone and geolocation | Automatic, based on IP | Filled from the proxy's location |
| WebRTC | Altered | Keeps your LAN address out of Mimic and Stealthfox |
Mimic or Stealthfox: the proxy does not decide
Mimic is Multilogin's Chromium-based core and Stealthfox its Firefox-based one. The proxy form and the line you paste are identical for both. Teams commonly run Google Ads, Facebook Ads, Amazon Seller Central and TikTok Shop on Mimic, and use Stealthfox to vary browser engines across eBay or Etsy stores; choose by what the site expects.
What the proxy does decide is the rest of the fingerprint. A profile on a Singapore proxy with a Hanoi timezone contradicts itself. Let timezone, geolocation and language follow the IP, and press Check proxy before the first launch so Multilogin fetches the location data.
Multilogin X agent and automation
In Multilogin X the local agent on your computer opens the connection to the proxy, so traffic goes from your machine straight to the ProxyV4 server. Profiles launched through automation scripts normally use the proxy saved in the profile, so there is no need to pass it again in code.
Errors, and the teammate case
- Authentication failed or 407: wrong login or password. Copy the pair from Orders instead of retyping; see the 407 guide.
- 'Could not connect to proxy' or a hanging test: wrong host or port, a type other than HTTP, or an expired order.
- Sites show the wrong country: check the bare line in the proxy checker, and raise a ticket if it is wrong there too.
- Works for you, not for a colleague: they are probably opening a copy without the proxy. Point everyone at the same profile.
- Before any first login: confirm the exit on My IP and the WebRTC leak test.
Step by step
- 1
Create a profile
Open Multilogin X with the local agent running, or Multilogin 6, and click Create new profile.
- 2
Custom proxy, HTTP
Under Proxy settings choose Custom and set the protocol to HTTP.
- 3
Paste and check
Paste the ProxyV4 line into the IP/Host field and press Check proxy to see the exit IP and country.
- 4
Save and start
Save the profile and press Start to open Mimic or Stealthfox.
Frequently asked questions
Why does Multilogin say 'Could not connect to proxy'?
Usually the protocol is SOCKS5 rather than HTTP, or whitespace came along with the password. Fix both and test the line in the proxy checker.
Can I bring my own proxy to Multilogin?
Yes. Choose the custom proxy option and enter your ProxyV4 HTTP proxy; the profile then has a dedicated static IP.
Does one proxy line work in both Mimic and Stealthfox?
Yes, the setup is the same. Just do not give one IP to two profiles meant to look like different people.
Does Multilogin X send proxy traffic through its web dashboard?
No. The Multilogin X agent on your computer connects directly to the proxy server.
Will the IP change if a teammate abroad opens the profile?
No. The profile connects through its saved proxy wherever it is opened, so sites see the same static IP.
How should an agency buy proxies for Multilogin?
One IP per profile, grouped by client and country. Larger orders lower the per-IP price on pricing, and agencies that resell access can look at the reseller programme.
Fixed IPs your whole workspace can rely on
Static ISP and private IPv4 in 7 locations. Renew some or all proxies and keep the same addresses.
