GoLogin proxy settings for profiles opened on more than one machine
Updated:
In GoLogin, a proxy is added on the profile's Proxy tab under Your Proxy: set the type to HTTP Proxy, paste the ip:port:user:pass line into the IP box and press Check Proxy. Because GoLogin profiles live in your account and can be opened from any computer, the proxy you save is what keeps their location steady.

Portable profiles need a fixed address
GoLogin runs on Windows, macOS and Linux and stores profiles in the cloud. A freelancer can start a session on a laptop and pick it up on an office desktop; an agency can share profiles between staff. Good for workflow, risky for the accounts inside.
Imagine an eBay store that logged in from a US address on Monday and from a colleague's home connection in another city on Tuesday. To the marketplace the seller just moved. Saving a static proxy in the profile removes that jump: whichever machine opens it, the site sees the same IP. ProxyV4 proxies are single-tenant, so nobody else's traffic shares that address.
What to set on the Your Proxy tab
| Setting | Choose | Effect in Orbita |
|---|---|---|
| Proxy type | HTTP Proxy | Matches our authenticated HTTP(S) proxies |
| IP address box | Paste the whole ip:port:user:pass line | GoLogin fills IP, port, username and password from it |
| Timezone | Based on external IP | Browser clock follows the proxy's location |
| WebRTC | Based on external IP | Orbita reports the proxy address, not your local network |
Faster ways to attach proxies
- Paste a line straight into the Proxy column of the main profile list; no need to open the editor.
- Wait for the green dot and country flag beside the profile before you press Run.
- For a batch, open the Proxies page from the top menu, choose Import Proxies and paste one line per row.
- Keep GoLogin's built-in shared free proxies away from merchant accounts on Amazon, eBay or Etsy; use an IP that is yours alone and map it one-to-one to a profile.
Desktop, web and cloud launch
With the desktop app, Orbita runs on your computer and connects to the proxy from there. With cloud launch, the browser runs on GoLogin's servers and the connection starts there instead. Our proxies log in with a username and password rather than an allow-list of source IPs, so the same line works in both cases.
What does cause trouble is one profile open in two places at once. Close it on the laptop before a teammate opens it, so the account sees a single session on a single IP. Assign the proxy before sharing the profile, and name one person to look after renewals so shared profiles do not go offline.
Diagnose by symptom
Run the line through the proxy checker first; its verdict tells you which row applies.
| Symptom in GoLogin | Checker says | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| Authentication error on Check Proxy | auth failed (407) | Paste user and pass again from Orders; see 407 errors |
| Check spins, then fails | timeout or connect failed | Confirm port, HTTP type and expiry; see proxy timeout |
| Orbita opens, HTTPS pages show a tunnel error | Varies | Read ERR_TUNNEL_CONNECTION_FAILED to tell a 407 from a 502 |
| Profile runs but the IP is yours | Proxy works | Save the profile again and check WebRTC; see proxy IP not changing |
| Wrong timezone on launch | Proxy works | The fingerprint was saved before the proxy; re-apply timezone from the IP and save |
Final check
Inside the running profile, open My IP and the WebRTC leak test. One address, the proxy's, in the country you ordered: the profile is ready. Teams working one market can keep a block of IPs from the same country, such as the United States or Singapore.

Frequently asked questions
GoLogin is stuck on 'Checking proxy'. What now?
Make sure the type is HTTP Proxy, not SOCKS5, and that the order is active. The proxy checker confirms whether the line itself answers.
Should I use GoLogin's built-in proxies or my own?
Your own, for any account you plan to keep. A dedicated proxy gives the profile an IP used only by you, unchanged for the whole rental.
Does the proxy follow the profile to another computer?
Yes. It is stored in the profile, so it applies on whichever device opens it. Just avoid having it open on two devices at once.
Does cloud launch need a different proxy?
No. The same HTTP proxy with username and password works when Orbita runs locally and when it runs on GoLogin's servers.
Can several GoLogin profiles share one proxy?
Only profiles meant to look like the same person. Separate accounts need separate IPs, and the per-IP price falls as you buy more on pricing.
Which proxy is best for GoLogin e-commerce profiles?
Static ISP in the store's market, for example US static ISP or Vietnam static ISP.
A steady IP for every GoLogin profile
Static ISP and private IPv4 proxies with unlimited bandwidth, ready to paste as ip:port:user:pass.
