Using a fixed IP for game accounts, launchers and stores

Updated:

A gaming proxy is a fixed address in another country that your launcher, store page or browser game connects through. It is useful for steady account logins, reaching a region's store and keeping several accounts apart. It is not a ping reducer, and many publishers restrict proxies or region changes in their terms, so read those before buying.

A fixed address in your game's region

Three jobs a proxy does well for players

Steady logins. Publishers protect accounts by flagging sign-ins from unfamiliar addresses. If your home address changes often, or you play from many places, one fixed address for the account means fewer email codes and security holds.

Home region while travelling. Someone abroad can open their own region's account pages and store from an address in that country, where the publisher allows it.

Separate accounts. Guilds, testers and QA teams that run several accounts, where the game permits it, can give each one its own address. Developers also use addresses in different countries to see how a launcher or game website behaves by region.

What a proxy will not fix

  • Lag from your own network. Weak Wi-Fi or a congested line stays the same. A proxy adds a hop, so latency usually stays level or rises.
  • Real-time match traffic. Our proxies speak HTTP(S) with a username and password. That suits launchers, stores, account pages and browser games; fast-paced match traffic generally needs a different kind of connection.
  • Rules. Bans for cheating, botting or buying region-locked content against the store's terms apply whatever the address.

Choosing the region

Pick the country your account belongs to or the region whose servers and store you use. Private IPv4 is the usual choice. If a service refuses datacenter addresses, a static ISP address in the US or Vietnam is the fallback.

Route only the game, not the whole PC

Send only the launcher or browser profile through the proxy and leave the rest of the machine on your normal line. That keeps voice chat, downloads in other apps and system updates off the proxy.

  • Browser games and store pages: set the proxy in a dedicated browser profile, as in the Chrome guide.
  • Desktop launchers without proxy settings: route that one program with Proxifier.
  • Before logging in, test the address with the proxy speed test and the proxy checker.
  • Keep each account on its own address and renew before expiry; renewal keeps the same IP.

Terms-of-service risks

Some publishers forbid changing region to buy cheaper keys or currency, or to join servers you are not entitled to, and suspend accounts that do. Others block proxies outright in their anti-cheat. Using our addresses for cheats, bots or banned farming also breaks our terms of service. Hopping between countries on one account looks like theft to most publishers; pick one region and stay there. Frequently asked questions

Can a proxy lower my ping in online games?

Rarely. It adds a hop between you and the server. It only helps if the proxy happens to sit on a much better route to the server than your own line, which is uncommon.

Do you offer UDP or SOCKS5 for game traffic?

No. Paid proxies are HTTP(S) with username and password authentication. They suit launchers, stores, account pages and browser games.

Are proxies allowed in every game?

No. Some games and anti-cheat systems block or forbid proxies and VPNs. Check the game's terms first.

Which country works for Asian servers?

Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan and South Korea are the usual picks, depending on where the servers and your account are.

The proxy feels slow. What can I do?

Measure it with the speed test and open a ticket. If it cannot connect or sits in the wrong location, the refund policy covers it.
